The State of California, where the Identity Theft Resource Center is located, has ordered businesses to close their offices to help slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. ITRC Advisors are working remotely to provide assistance and advice; however, victims may experience longer than normal response times.

Additionally, the ITRC has seen a rise in COVID-19-related scams targeting both businesses and consumers. Tips for workers who telecommute during this time are also available to help ensure remote workers practice safe computing while they are away from their workplace.
