Bing Maps Adds Local Features
For quite sometime Google has dominated the local search functions (as well as anything to do with search obviously) with Yahoo having some nice local functionality as well.
Today Bing announced some additional local directory features within Bing Maps to try to get a leg up on those other guys.
Those features are:
Local Events – With local events you may have nothing planned to do tonight (yet) but by selecting an area you will get a selection of different types of events you can head on over to or select different dates. Pretty cool way to check out what is happening in your area. For more info check out local events at Bing.
Destination Maps – Basically Destination Maps lets you select a destination and then drag square around the local area the people traveling to the destination will be coming from. Some pretty nifty interface tweaks you can make too (pirate map look, etc). For more info check out Bing.
